ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music-dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system for men, women and children!  The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.

ZUMBA utilizes the principals of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning, and total body toning.  It targets areas such as gluts, legs, arms, abdominals and the most important muscle in the body, the heart.

The goal is for participants to escape, dance, smile, and have FUN while working out and for the class to be the best hour of your week!

Wear comfy gym clothes to sweat and move around in, a dance-fitness or dance-aerobic shoe is the best choice, or if you have them, dance sneakers.  NOTE: The LESS traction on the bottom of your shoes the better. It is strongly recommended to bring a bottle of water, towel if needed, and your Latin Attitude!

ZUMBA Instructor

Alex Buck is a Certified Zumba and Zumba Toning instructor in the Dupage County area, based out of Naperville. Dancing has been her passion since she was 4 years old.  Over 15 years she studied classical ballet, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom dancing and much more, until she took some needed time off from the dancing world to go to school, get married and become a first time mom to a beautiful boy.

In 2008, Alex decided to get back into shape after about 3 years of being a stay at home mom. She searched hard to find something that she could make a career doing...that's when Zumba came along!

From the very first class Alex taught, she was hooked, not only for her own benefit to get fit, but to see her students express themselves through dance, become fit in an exhilarating way and escape for one hour from their busy stressful lives. "Zumba is the most unique, simple, Latin party-like experience that I am so proud to teach!".  "I never get tired of seeing my students smile, shake their booties and sweat all at the same time", says Alex.

Alex currently teaches at Aurora Skate Center from 7-8p on Tuesday evenings. "The skating rink is seriously the best party atmosphere for the Zumba!", Alex explains.  To see other locations and times of her classes in the area visit Danceypants.com or Zumba.com.
