Special Events:

October 27, 2011 - Costume Skate:

What are you going as this year?  Why not go on skates?  Wear your costume to the Homeschool Skate and see who else is there.

Costume contests, theme games, candy, holiday music, and Fall decorations all add to the spirit.  Don't be too frightened!  Come skate in costume with us.  (For safety reasons all costumes will be inspected before being allowed on the skate floor.)"

Dec. 8, 2011 - Christmas Party on Wheels:

This week's gathering at Homeschool Skate will be a special Christmas party for the kids. Skate to Christmas and other holiday music wearing your most festive red, green, and white. We'll have a craft for kids who have RSVP'd and a dramatic reading of the Christmas story in the bible. Bring your favorite Christmas cookies to share. Exercise, fun, and friends will all be there.  Ho, Ho, Ho!

February 9, 2012 - 50's Sock Hop Skate and Valentine's Day Card Exchange:

Come on guys and dolls, slick back your hair and puff out your poodle skirts.  What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with a good old fashioned 50's Sock Hop Skate?  Tee shirts with leather jackets, pony tails with cardigan sweaters. Hey, you have the wardrobe already.  Just bring the attitude!

Anyone wishing to exchange Valentine's Day cards should bring a 'mailbox' and pre-addressed cards.  Write on the cards, "To My Friend," or, "To You," or "To Someone Special," etc.  Then exchange as many as you bring and go home feeling like a cool dude at the end of the day."

April 26, 2012 - Student Presentation Day:

Your kids have been working on projects and collecting cool things all year.  Now they have a chance to show their friends and talk about their neat stuff.  It's "Student Presentation Day" at the Aurora Skate Center!

We'll divide the kids into two age groups.  (possibly ages 9 and under in one group, 10 and above in another)  Those participating will spend time in the party room showing their items, talking about why they are special, and asking questions of others.  Meanwhile the other group will have the skate floor all to themselves for some special games.  Sound a little like "Show and Tell?"  It's "Student Presentation Day!"
