"Skating Merit Badge Clinic"

Registration: $10 Per Scout for first time clinic participants
Scouts who participated in our previous Merit Badge Clinics are welcome to attend this clinic to work on unfinished requirements. Registration required: $1
Certified Skating Merit Badge Counselors,
and BSA Youth Protection Training (YPT) Certified staff and skating pros,
will teach all the elements of the "Roller Skating" merit badge including:
Safety / 1st Aid Equipment & Procedures
Skate Floor Citizenship
Each Scout must bring a blue card signed in advance by your troop leader indicating to us that your unit authorizes your participation in this clinic.
This session will be jam packed with hands on experience, time to practice, and fun!
Rink access during the program as well the afternoon general session from 1-4 at no charge,
Professional instruction from experts in three fields,
Choice of rental skates at no extra charge (there are two paths from which to choose...regular quad skates or inlines),
One Small soda fountan drink, and
Skating Merit Badge Counselors on site to certify completed requirements on your blue card.
(This session is only for currently active Boy Scouts. Snack shop will be open for parents to relax.)
Space is limited to 60 Scouts. (Your non-refundable deposit holds your spot.)
Pre-register online (above, "Get BSA Tickets") or in advance at the ASC ticket office (during office hours or any public session).
Note: The Official BSA Skating Merit Badge is awarded for demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with ice, roller (quad), or inline skating. (The ice skating option will not be offered through this program at a roller skate center.) Scouts will be instructed on how to perform specific skills as outlined at http://www.boyscouttrail.com/boy-scouts/meritbadges/skating.asp.
While all participants will be provided instruction and opportunity to practice, please be advised that Scouts with no previous skating experience may not be able to learn and demonstrate all the performance skill requirements in this one day event. Any scouts who go home with an incomplete blue card can be signed off at a later date by an on-site Certified Skating Merit Badge Counselor when they are able to demonstrate the required proficiency.
